How it works….
Bogg Springs Baptist Camp was created to allow churches to be able to come together in a camp setting. Each week of camp allows those churches to create a camp experience to their liking. Most of the weeks of camps have been formed by groups of churches associating with the ABA, which owns the camp, but not all do. Some groups are simply renting the camp grounds to use for their purposes. This does not mean that you can’t be apart of a week of camp because all weeks of camp welcome newcomers, regardless of direct association. We are simply explaining the structure of how the camps operates.
Pricing for each week of camp is set by the individual camps themselves. Bogg Springs charges each week of camp a per camper fee to cover the cost of food, staff and camp maintenance. Each week of camp then decides how much they will charge on top of the Bogg Springs fee to cover the expenses they have. You will either find the pricing of the individual camps on their own websites or by calling that weeks registrar. For help you can always call the camp manager Jon.
There are four different types of camps that currently operate:
1) Family-Style Camping. This is a camp where churches bring people of all ages from their churches to gather to camp together. These are still greatly gear towards reaching students, but these camps do accommodate all ages. This would include Oklahoma camp, Southwest camp, West Central camp and Family camp.
2) Teen Camps. This is a camp organized by churches with the goal of reaching teenagers. Church groups bring with them their teens, 7th through 12th grade, to a camp built for their age group. Each church is responsible to bring sponsoring adults to stay with and care for their teens during the week. This would include The Bogg camp, National camp, and Next camp.
3) Children's Camps. This is a organized by churches with the goal of reaching kids, 3rd through 6th grade. Church groups bring with them their kids in this age group. Each church is responsible to bring sponsoring adults to stay with and care for their kids but staffers will provided to help during the days. This would include Kidz Kamp Session 1 and 2.
4) Individual group camps. This is a group that has rented the camp ground outside of the ABA associational church structure. This includes Red River Valley Honors Camp.
Each week of camp is organized by volunteers from participating churches. These volunteers create a leadership structure for that week of camp to operate under. This often includes a director, a registrar, a treasurer, a rec. leader and more. These will be your points of contact for specific information about that particular week of camp.
To register for a week of camp, you must reach out the registrar for that particular week. That normally takes place in the spring. For additional information about a week of camp, you would want to speak to the director. On the camps page of this website, there will be a link for that weeks contacts and more information.
If you have any further questions, please reach out to our camp office through the contacts page of this website.
FAQs
-
Bogg Springs is a camp owned by the American Baptist Association of churches. This means that this is a true nonprofit and the money made at camp goes directly back into the camp itself. The churches are represented by a Board of Trustees who hire and oversee the camp superintendent. The campgrounds are supervised year-round by our on-site superintendent, Jon Jacks, who’s job is to manage, maintain and direct the camp and its operations. The superintendent is the only full time employee who hires the necessary staffing during the summer to function the summer camp season.

The Trustees represent the American Baptist Association of churches as the ownership group. they are voted on by the ABA to represent them. They oversee the camp manager and provide the support needed.
They are not directly involved with day to day operations or with the maintaining of the camp. They meet with the camp manager twice a year to evaluate the managers operation of the camp. They help set the camp fees with the manager to keep them fair to the camp and campers.
